We can become artists at any age.
At the ripe old age of 62, I started my uplifting
journey into watercolor under the tutelage of a wonderful artist named Ralph Murray. After only four and a half years of classes,
I was hooked.
My love for art began as a child as I watched my mother who was a natural artist. She had no
training, no mentor, just inborn creativity that spoke loudly in everything she did.
I took an oil painting and
a watercolor class when my children were little; but, quiet time for mothers with little children is rare, so I did not continue.
Instead, I did crewel embroidery, macrame, collages, stuffed animal creations, sewing, and other creative things my children
could do along with me.
Then, when my children were grown and I retired from my fulltime job as President of SBU
Investment Services, I took my first Ralph Murray watercolor class. He and his students made me love pursuing the dream my
mother nurtured in me.
I specialize in watercolor paintings and watercolor note cards from my watercolor originals.
My husband frames my work with his well-chosen, precise mats. So, this business is a "labor of love" in more ways
tham one!
